Nestle have a generous salary on offer for suitable candidates, along with various incentives to reward top performance and encourage longevity in their business.

Last year, the intake was hugely successful and Nestle have seen 100% retention with their graduate recruits.  This was also due to the rigorous screening that Nestle conduct, not only within the ProGrad assessment day but also using the Nestle values as a way of assessing a cultural fit.

The key attributes they are looking for include, confidence, strong communication skills, the ability to problem solve and think laterally, and the ability to work cohesively within a team environment.  Successful candidates last year demonstrated a real drive to be successful and a real passion for the Nestle brand.  The organisation is a true believer in hiring graduate talent and nurturing this talent through the business.  The opporutnities for successful candidates are endless within this organisation.

I was also just wondering if it was possible for you to e-mail me the notes on Davinia’s presentation that she gave at the end of the day, I missed part of it so would be great to look over them so I can prepare myself for any upcoming interviews.
Once again, thanks for everything.

Interact On & Offline

by ProGrad

I am a huge advocate for online networking tools. I use the tools and am happy to speak of my experiences with them to engage others and learn by sharing ideas.  At a recent conference I attended an impressive paper presented by Faith Legendre- Global Consultant for Cisco WebEx, during which she pointed out “In the past we shared our stories via the light of the camp fire, today we share our stories via the light of the computer monitor”.

With so much communication online, could it be too much of a good thing? I wanted to present the case for the reverse.  In my role I often see many graduates that are so accustomed to social networking sites, blogs, emails, chats, sms’s and wikis that they miss out on developing skills and have to learn how to interact on the telephone and conduct effective face to face meetings.

Like many things, I suspect imbalance has its consequences.  In a world where online skills are becoming the norm building effective business to business relationships via the phone and face to face become highly valued.

Importance of Training

by ProGrad

Getting your foot in the door is a start, but it’s not enough to ensure fast progression and growth throughout your career.

With the current state of the economy, many organisations are trying to balance their restructuring and retention needs to ensure they maintain their well-trained, multi-skilled organisation.

It has been recognised that without well trained employees, a company can lose its competitive advantage. It is for this reason, it is essential for all organisations to continually be training their staff to ensure maximum success.

When recruiting new employees, organisations often focus on selecting staff with the right attitude and essential competencies such as confidence, drive to succeed and strong communication skills. Once a suitable candidate is selected they can then use training and mentoring to ensure the necessary skills are acquired.

Main Benefits of Training:

      1) Assist employees to grow, develop and gain fast progression

Providing training can benefit employees as it can be used as a tool that can lead to a fast progression rate through an organisation. Quality skills and knowledge can be seen as a powerful bargaining tool when looking to move up within a company.

       2) Assist organisations in achieving their goals and objectives

Providing training can increase job satisfaction and staff morale by creative a strong learning culture within an organisation which can lead to an improved profitability and a more positive attitude towards achieving the organisations goals and objectives.
