Feedback – Elle, Business – UTS

by ProGrad
ProGrad regularly receive emails following successful inductions within their new business, and these are emails we would like to share with you.  This is an email sent by Elle, to one of our Graduate Managers, Virginia:

Hi Virginia,

I am very well thank-you.

I am really enjoying my position. I have found the training very comprehensive, well structured and have much enjoyed learning all the different aspects of my role so far. I have been out in the field the entire time and have spent training days in various regions including that of the territory I will be taking over.

I feel the company has provided me with an excellent induction and given me the opportunity to integrate and learn so that I am confident to progress in my role and seek all the opportunities that the position offers.

I really enjoy being in the field and meeting people and have also learnt a great deal about the industry as well as the products, lines and position of them within the market place.

I am very grateful to you for seeking out this position for me as I am very happy in my role. Simplot is a fantastic company from what I have experienced. My colleagues are very supportive and are a great team to work with and I hope to progress my career with them in the future.

Kind regards,

Elle

Elle has been a successful recruit and has gone from strength to strength within her employment.  Despite limited commercial experience prior to coming to ProGrad’s assessment day, Elle demonstrated a natural flair for business and strong commercial accumen.  This is exactly what we look for during our assessment process within ProGrad.  If you would like to be considered for any graduate marketing or sales roles, please call ProGrad on 02 8235 8300.

Feedback – Jamil, Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Media Arts and Production)

by ProGrad

Hi Virginia,

Sorry for the late response, I’ve been away to Melbourne with work and arrived last night (Wednesday).  As you may or may not know, my role is specifically a lead generation role to help generate leads for the Victorian and S.A. markets.  Before this trip, I was a bit confused as to my part in the whole puzzle, but things have been greatly clarified now and I look forward to working closely with the Melbourne team.

Also, my fellow colleagues are great to work with and very supportive, with a lot of fun being had as well as hard work of course.  It has been very much been a hit the ground running one, however as time goes on, the product range, our marketing and selling tactics and such are becoming much more clearer.

Thanks for your email, and thanks again for your work in securing this role.  It is greatly appreciated!

Regards

Feedback – Levi, Sydney

by ProGrad

“Thanks for the email, great to hear from you. The new job is great, I realise the more I’m here how much there is to learn, but it’s a good feeling knowing that I’m in an environment where I can do that.”

“Training week was very advantageous in learning the ‘roots’ of the profession and beginning to build a business network. Michael is very good at training and kept us interested.”

“Myself and the other grads are about to undertake the first two modules of our Diploma in Financial Services (Broking) which will be good to further our professional development.”

“I’d love to be able to keep in touch as the role continues.”

Feedback – Elizabeth, Perth

by ProGrad

“My first few weeks have certainly been interesting. Sydney was quite an information overload, though highly enjoyable. For the next 5 months I have been placed in the “second” office in Perth – which focuses on Local Government Risk Services. I spent the first week meeting colleagues and familiarising myself with Company information, and now have begun my first rotation with the Broking department, where I will be for a month, I believe”

“I have basically been handed over the ‘Marketing Portfolio’ for this branch, due to my Marketing background. This is great, as it is not a full-time job within this organisation, and can fit this in with the other work that I am doing. We are about to begin our Diploma of Finance, also.”

“Hope that all is well on the other side of the country and that you enjoy your week.”

Feedback – recently placed ProGrad graduate

by ProGrad

Hey Virginia,

I’m well thanks how are you?

Certainly enjoyed the week in Sydney, unsurprisingly the next few weeks haven’t been quite as good. The first couple of weeks have been okay, been a tad difficult talking to clients when I really don’t know that much yet, and had to perform a few monotonous tasks however thats to be expected. However once I have a firm grasp of insurance and the different products, and am settled in a role i certainly think I will enjoy it though.

As a company JLT are an excellent employer. Everyone is really sociable and have good sense of humour. Also there seems a lot of opportunity to advance in the insurance industry in general. Many of the brokers I’m working with don’t have a degree, however were promoted from admin/ data entry roles so i think i can go a long way particulary given the advantage I have of making this program.

Actually had a question for you- was just wondering whether or not we will still attend the prograd training days given the fact that we are in a graduate program as opposed to a usual grad position?

Thanks again for all your help, hope you’ve been well.

Feedback from a recently placed ProGrad candidate

by ProGrad

Hi Virgnia,

I Just thought it’s about time to say hello from my new workplace- thanks to you! Week 3 is coming to an end, and to be honest I  really loving it here. It’s exactly what I was looking for. The company is fantastic, work colleagues supportive- things could not be better, perhaps the pay could be higher but it’s only a matter of time for my commissions to start coming.

I sent my friend Grace to come and see you; she is also a recent graduate. She has already landed a fantastic job, thanks to you guys.

Anyways, I just wanted to say hello and wish to be in touch, you guys are awesome and so glad I came to Prograd- you guy’s rock.

Thanks once again!

Module 2 – Melbourne 11th-12th February – Graduate Feedback -Part 2

by ProGrad

“While not everything was applicable, there were 4-5 key concepts that I am planning on trying over the next few weeks to see how they can work within my sales calls – I’m looking forward to giving it a go”

“Very well presented and I will implement this into my role”

“I found it hard to apply at first but now I get it. We really need to focus on sales, there is nurturing of a sales environment. I think training would really help emphasise the importance of the role. Thanks King!”

“Some areas will be extremely useful as I am in Account Management role without direct selling”

“At first I had trouble applying “S.P.I.N.” to my role but after practicing I could see that it would be useful. I like to hear other people opinions or certain areas and this is where discussion is useful”

“The information is useful for my the role I hope to more into but at the moment I’m only involved in small residential sales. Kingsley method of training is very effective.

Module 2 Training – Melbourne 11th-12th February – Graduate Feedback

by ProGrad

” Definitely got me thinking on my current approach, very relevant and adaptable. Kingsley is the master of S.P.I.N”

“Module 2 was relevant and founded a clear structure for approaching the sales process. The material was clear and effectively delivered and explained with relevant examples. We have regular product specific training and how to sell particular solutions but not ‘sales’ training specifically”

“Very good. Kingsley has communicated the techniques in an easy manner to understand. The feedback from everyone is genuine and very helpful. Keep up the good work Kingsley and ProGrad”

“Structured approach to face to face sales. Kingsley is an effective trainer”

“Really appreciated the valuable information in Module 2. I feel confident that I can go away and apply this in my everyday role. KINGSLEY - GREAT JOB! Excellent content – very applicable!”

Interview Feedback

by ProGrad

Part of my role as a Graduate Development Manager is to arrange candidate interviews with our client partners. I love my job and it’s just so satisfying when I get to place a candidate into the role of their dreams!

One thing to keep in mind when you are going out to interviews with ProGrad (or any recruitment company), is that you should always call your Account Manager as soon as you walk out of an interview! It’s really important to provide them with honest feedback straight away while it is still fresh in your mind. If you love the company and the role, then you must tell us. If we are aware that you really want the job then we will do everything we can on the client side, to get you locked in for a second interview, or even better, get you an offer on the table!  In saying that, if the interview went horribly and you didn’t like the opportunity at all, then you need to tell us so we know more about what you are looking for, and know not to put you out to similar opportunities like that in the future.

The key is to call us as soon as you get out of the interview and to remember that honesty is the best policy!

Please feel free to contact me in the ProGrad offices if you wish to discuss this further.

What happens after the ProGrad Assessment Day?

by ProGrad

Every week, ProGrad are running assessment centres either for ourselves, or for our clients.  As a result, we often see over 100 candidates each week who come along to an assessment day.  So what happens next?

Well, once an assessment day is complete, ProGrad collate all of the scoring information which is uploaded to an internal database.  If you were successful through the process, ProGrad start to contact you with opportunities and aim to organise interviews on your behalf.  If you are not successful through this process, ProGrad keep this information on file, should the candidates want feedback.

Feedback is always up to the candidate to request and receive and we appreciate that not all candidates want to hear about their performance.  With this in mind, it is up to the candidate to make contact and ask questions.

We would strongly urge every candidate to ask about their performance as there is always something to learn and take away from the experience.

If you have recently attended an assessment day, please contact us in order to receive feedback.  We would like to ensure that information is provided which might assist with further interviews or assessment centres in the future.

ProGrad can be called on 02 8235 8300 or emailed on info@prograd.com.au
