ProGrad Graduate Recruitment
ProGrad are Australia’s largest and most successful graduate recruiter, specialising only on working with recently qualified graduates at the start of their career. ProGrad realised the need for such a service in 2005, following feedback from hundreds of graduates that one of their greatest challenges was finding a graduate position without any commercial experience.
It is something experienced by many upon leaving University. Having studied for several years, and having been assured by your lecturers that your career dreams will be easily fulfilled, we soon realise the dreaded reality of job seeking using job boards like Seek, Mycareer and CareerOne. After hours of clicking around online, sending dozens of applications and covering letters to boot….we sit…and wait…and wait.
The trouble is, you’re not alone during this application process. In fact, each year, thousands of University graduates are doing the same as you, applying for roles with limited experience, a bare resume and a covering letter we hope will impress the employers.
At ProGrad, we make the application process more streamlined for graduates. We are the primary conduit between graduates and the commerical world. We have a team of people within ProGrad who are constantly promoting the strengths of graduate recruits and persuading organisations to invest in organic growth of their teams using recently qualified graduates. As a result, we have built up a strong brand and a reputation with major employers across Australia. Our employer partners include the likes of Dell, Microsoft, Nestle, Fujtisu and Dimension Data who partner with ProGrad to ensure their graduate program selects and retains the strongest of graduate talent.
We receive hundreds of applications each week but please don’t let that put you off. We work with hundreds of companies and each day we build new relationships with new corporations looking to build their brand. When applying to ProGrad, we won’t judge you based on your lack of experience. Rather, we’ll embrace it! We will speak to you on the phone and conduct a telephone interview during which we will want to know whether you are looking for roles that we can help with. If so, we will need you to answer a series of behavioural based questions and you will be advised whether you have been successful.
If you are successful during the telephone interview, you will be invited to attend a ProGrad assessment day which is held in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. The assessment days are a challenge, but they’re not to be afraid of. The assessment exercises are designed to promote graduate talent, without commercial experience. Therefore, you are assessed for areas of competency such as drive, dynamism, confidence and communication skills. There are areas of the assessment day we would recommend you prepare for, this is to ensure maximum success levels on the day.
At the end of the assessment day, ProGrad are able to discuss graduate career opportunities with you that we feel (based on our time with you) would be appropriate for the roles you are looking for. Our roles do vary enormously, as do the graduates we work with. We always aim to select a strong cultural fit to ensure maximum success levels in your first commercial role.
Many of our graduate success stories have seen them travel the world in very senior positions, lead teams of people, and even set up and drive their own new entrepreneurial businesses.
ProGrad is a true believer in graduate talent and this is a message we preach to all companies that we partner with. ProGrad are a real sales engine and do need to sell our graduate message to the corporate world.
